Just what the Doctor ordered

When the Doctor Strange teaser trailer premiered in April, we were made aware of just how visually striking this movie would be. During the Marvel Studios annual mic drop on the comic book movie landscape, they presented the newest trailer for their next release but more importantly, I believe that this is the film that we need right now in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The tone that was set in the teaser trailer carries over into the second along with more of the amazing visuals that we hadn't seen yet. This trailer focused more on Doctor Strange after he has been studying with the Ancient One, after he's developed his mystical powers but it seems like Strange and Baron Mordo are fighting a battle that only they can see, which is a pretty interesting concept. I think that Tilda Swinton's Ancient One will be one of the more fascinating characters in the MCU and that's saying a lot when we've already seen Loki, The Collector and the soon to appear Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok, played by Jeff Goldblum. Her look, presense and how powerful she is will be a welcome addition to the MCU.

It's fair to say that Captain America: Civil War took a lot out of us emotionally and even physically to a point. Some friends of mine were almost sick of another superhero team up/superhero's fighting each other movie and how it was becoming too much, which might they have a valid argument, especially for this year. Because of the high that Civil War was, the next film in this slate had to be a character that isn't well known, has a very interesting origin story and can show us another part of this world that we as fans love so much. We'll see a completely different skill set and the perfect change of pace that isn't just a trip to Asgard, New York or Europe. It's a gateway to another dimension and that's what's most exciting to me as we go further into Phase 3. Throw in the stunning visuals along with the different look of the characters, we'll get just what the doctor ordered on November 4th, 2016.
